One of the fun parts to this job is visiting local schools and being grilled by the students on life as a member of parliament. On Remembrance Day I called in at Woodford State School to talk about my experiences on the Kokoda Trail earlier this year. It was great to see such an enthusiastic bunch of kids – good on you guys.
As the school year draws to a close, I have attended both the Woodford State School and the Australian Christian College – Moreton award ceremonies. Best wishes to all of the graduating students. I also attended the opening of the Arthur Duncan Training Room at the Mt Mee Rural Fire Brigade station last Saturday. This is truly one of the best examples of community volunteers working together to protect their community.
