Firstly can I just say welcome to 2011. I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year and are ready to take on new and exciting challenges in 2011 – I know I certainly am!
Many people have contacted my office since November 2010 over the changes being proposed for the 2011 rail timetable. Those people are aware that on behalf of myself and other Sunshine Coast MP’s, the Member for Maroochydore, Fiona Simpson, has been in constant contact with the office of the Minister for Transport trying to get the Minister to attend a community forum on the Coast to discuss how the proposed changes will affect commuters. As late as Christmas Eve we were told that the Minister would not be available on Saturday 15 January which was one of the options given. We continue to wait to see if the Minister will agree to attend a forum on either January 22 or January 29. My office reopens on Monday 10 January and we will do our best to find out which date the forum will be held and will update the website and email all contacts as soon as possible.
Best wishes again for 2011.
