Many people have made contact with my office over the past two weeks asking for information on when Grigor Bridge in Conondale will re-open. I have been in constant contact with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and have communicated on behalf of residents the importance of not only ensuring the swiftest results possible but also the safest and most sustainably effective way of keeping this important access point accessible.
Main Roads have advised me today, Friday 21 January, that load testing and surveys have now been completed along with the relevant repairs. The results have been sent to the Bridge Branch in Brisbane who now have to sign off on the results and give permission for the bridge to reopen to traffic. The directive from the Bridge Branch is expected to be given today or Monday 24 January at the latest.
Please be assured that I am continuing to do all I can to ensure that the safest and most efficient actions are being carried out during this process and will advise you as soon as more information comes to hand.
