You have until Friday 13 September to have your say on road safety as part of the landmark government review into speed limits across Queensland. If you think there is a road with too many speed zone changes, or you have a suggestion to make speed limits easier to understand, we really want to hear from you.
This is the first state-wide review conducted in Queensland and it’s a great opportunity for local drivers to give the government quality feedback that could help improve roads in our area.
A number of people have already contacted me with suggestions on which roads to nominate including sections of the D’Aguilar Highway, Maleny-Kenilworth Road, Steve Irwin Way and Palmwoods-Montville Road. As you have also recently seen with the speed along Steve Irwin Way between Beerburrum Road and Moffats Road that was reduced to 80km/h, the Government is taking all feedback from the community into account and responding where necessary.
Once submissions have been received, Transport and Main Roads will work with local councils to identify the top 100 roads. Submissions can be made online at www.tmr.qld.gov.au/SpeedLimitReview up until midnight Friday 13 September or posted to Speed Limit Review, PO Box 673, Fortitude Valley Queensland 4006.
