Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP, yesterday hosted the Minister for Education, Training and Employment, Hon John-Paul Langbroek MP, at a forum with principals of Glass House primary and secondary schools.
Mr Powell said that principals from schools across the Glass House electorate attended the forum at Woodford State School and joined in discussion with him and the Minister on a range of topics.
“It was a very productive forum with many issues canvassed including school autonomy and early childhood learning,” Mr Powell said.
“The forum provided a great opportunity for principals to raise queries and concerns both honestly and openly with both myself and Minister Langbroek.
“I appreciate the Minister taking the time to visit Woodford State School and see first-hand the great work that our principals and teachers are doing here in Glass House.”
Following the forum the Mr Powell and Minister Langbroek sat down with Woodford State School principal Ronnie Hill to discuss the feasibility of offering Senior Education for the students at Woodford State School.
“I want to thank the Minister for recognising that a discussion needs to be had on this issue, and for allowing Principal Hill and her staff to present their case for a full high school
“I will continue to work with the Minister, Principal Hill and the school community to ensure that the growing needs of the school are met.”
