At the start of November we announced the first ever state wide reduction to public transport fares in Queensland’s history. Passengers are now paying 5 per cent less for fares.
After a two week survey (31 Aug to 14 Sept) and feedback from local members, Queenslanders chose cheaper fares. Almost 22,000 Queenslanders voted – and 74 per cent of those wanted cheaper fares.
I popped into Palmwoods Train Station last week to share the good news amongst commuters and the feedback was excellent.
