Energex have advised that if the forecasts of a near Category One cyclone are correct, strong winds, flash flooding and heavy rainfall are likely to impact on local electricity supplies.

Here are some numbers that might come in handy during this time:

Loss of Supply number 13 62 62 – For specific information regarding your own power supply
Priority emergency number 13 19 62 – primarily for dangerous situations such as damaged underground cables and downed powerlines
General enquiries number 13 12 53 – for less urgent, generally non-storm related information

The Energex website also has a significant amount of storm and flood safety information which can be accessed via https://www.energex.com.au/safety/safety-in-an-emergency .

Please stay safe and remember ‘if it’s flooded, forget it!’
