For the past six years, the Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP has paid tribute to the hardworking volunteers in the Glass House community by holding a special awards ceremony and morning tea in their honour to coincide with National Volunteers Week.
“This is by far and away the highlight of the Glass House electorate calendar and something I am proud to have continued into my now sixth year as the Member for Glass House.
“The way I see it, anyone who volunteers in any capacity, in any community organisation in Glass House deserves to be publicly recognised and thanked for their contribution to our community.
“Those volunteers we will recognise in 2015 range from helping at local schools, in environment and historical groups and within our Chamber of Commerce organisations. They should all be so proud of their efforts and walk away from today’s event knowing their community is very blessed to have them.
“I hold this event every year to celebrate and acknowledge the efforts of these volunteers on behalf of our community and show them our appreciation for their time and dedication,” he said.
