As in previous years the Queensland Government’s Get in the Game initiative is once again available with Get Started Vouchers close to wrapping up and Get Going Clubs and Get Playing Places and Spaces opening for applications on Monday, 3 August 2015.
Close to 10,000 Get Started Vouchers have already been snapped up by Queenslanders in the first two weeks.
Following on from the Get Started Vouchers, I encourage all sport and recreation clubs in the Glass House electorate to apply for Get Going Clubs and Get Playing Places and Spaces.
This funding can be used for club capacity projects to improve facilities, buy equipment and support your members.
I have seen some great results and success stories through previous rounds of these programs and if your club has not already taken advantage of this funding then I strongly urge you to do so.
Get Going Clubs provides funding of up to $7500 to help clubs provide participation opportunities in the community.
Get Playing Places and Spaces provides funding of up to $100,000 for developing new or upgraded sport and recreation infrastructure.
This is an opportunity for members of our community to participate in sport and active recreation at the grassroots level—to get more people outdoors, staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
