Member for Glass House Andrew Powell is thrilled to announce that, after years of relentless pressure, D’Aguilar Highway will be upgraded at Stony Creek, starting in late 2021. This includes dedicated right-turn lanes at Jenkinsons Road, Bateman Road and Stony Creek Road, resurfacing from west of Kilcoy-Beerway Road to west of Stony Creek Road and a wide centre line treatment between Caboolture and Wamuran.
“This is long overdue but very welcome news for the people of Woodford, Kilcoy and all locations in between.
When I was first elected, I committed to relentlessly campaigning for safety improvements and upgrades along the length of the D’Aguilar Highway.
I’ve already delivered two overtaking lanes, widened median strips and upgrades at various intersections and through Woodford. The Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington MP, and I successfully campaigned for an improved road surface west of Sirl Road at Stony Creek.
These intersection upgrades were the missing piece of the puzzle west of Woodford. They’ll vastly improve safety. And the rehabilitated road surface couldn’t happen soon enough – the current state of the road is appalling.
There’s still more to do though. I won’t stop till you have the D’Aguilar Highway our growing region needs and deserves.”
