Seven years in the making!

Turning the sod on $16 million of upgrades to the D’Aguilar Highway at Gamgee Road, Wamuran.

Huge thanks to my mate Wyatt Roy and his federal colleagues for fully funding this project. Exciting day!!
November 2015 – Update from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) on the D’Aguilar Highway Safety Improvement Project (Caboolture to Kilcoy).

Current work includes:
· Constructing a 1.2km overtaking lane (eastbound) between the two Gamgee Road intersections, with a one-metre wide painted centre median
treatment along the length of the overtaking lane to separate opposing traffic lanes.
· Safety improvements at the two Gamgee Road intersections with the D’Aguilar Highway including providing dedicated turning lanes and lighting
at the Gamgee Road east intersection.
· Pavement rehabilitation and drainage improvements for a 2.1km section of highway between the two Gamgee Road intersections.

General working hours near residential areas will be between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting. If work is required outside these hours, the project team will contact local residents who may be affected.

Earthworks and vegetation clearing for road widening will take place on the D’Aguilar Highway between the Gamgee Road intersections throughout November and December, weather permitting. To ensure the safety of motorists and workers, traffic control including reduced speed limits, shoulder and lane closures will be required at times.

The Gamgee Road (east) intersection with the D’Aguilar Highway will be relocated east from its current location and will close from mid-November 2015, weather permitting. During this closure, motorists travelling to Gamgee Road will be diverted via Gamgee Road (west) intersection and Station Road (also detailed in the map below).

Every effort will be made to reduce potential construction impacts. At various times local residents and businesses may experience some short term impacts including increased site activity, minor traffic delays, noise, dust and vibration from construction equipment and activities.
