Congratulations are in order for the Maleny RSL Sub-branch who have recently picked up $37,084.42 through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

Member for Glass House Andrew Powell caught up with the board to congratulate them on their massive win and have a chat about their plans for the future of the RSL.

“We’ve got grand plans, that’s for sure! The money is headed towards refitting the RSL bar, upgrading our water tanks and installing external speakers for ANZAC services,” said President George Thomas.

“ANZAC services at the RSL are already brilliant, but the speakers will mean more people can attend and spread out without crowding into the front rows to hear,” said Mr Powell.

“And who isn’t prone to a well-deserved Friday night drink and meal at the RSL?  The refitting of the bar is just extra enticement for locals to come have a beer and a bite to eat.”

With so many upgrades on the way, the Maleny RSL Sub-branch are gearing up to hold many more events in the future.
