Member for Glass House, Andrew Powell MP, is excited to announce the return of the Glass House Volunteer Awards for 2026.
The Volunteer Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge those in our community who generously give their time to support others.
“One of the things I love most about our region is the incredible community spirit we see right across the Glass House electorate.” Mr Powell said.
“So much of what happens in our local communities, sporting clubs and organisations is made possible by people who simply put their hand up and give their time to help others.”
Nominations for the 2026 Glass House Volunteer Awards will be open until 6th November, giving the community the opportunity to recognise a local hero who goes above and beyond. This will be followed by a Morning Tea at Maleny Golf Club on Friday 13th November to celebrate and honour those who have been nominated.
Mr Powell encouraged residents to get involved and recognise the volunteers who help make our region such a great place to call home.
To nominate a volunteer simply email Andrew Powell on glass.house@parliament.qld.gov.au with their name, organisation, and a few words about why they deserve recognition.
“Whether they’re coaching a local team, organising events, fundraising, or quietly helping behind the scenes, our volunteers make an enormous difference. Without them, so many of the organisations and activities we value simply wouldn’t be possible” he said.
“These awards are my way of saying thank you and recognising those who give so much to our community.”
