- A safety project at Beerburrum Road, English Street and Twin View Road intersection has reached a key milestone, with detailed design finalised.

The Crisafulli Government has hit a key milestone on the project to upgrade the Beerburrum Road, Twin View Road and English Street intersection with detailed design for the project finalised.
The project will deliver new traffic signals and new signalised pedestrian crossings to ensure the safety of school children attending the nearby Elimbah State School and commuters using the train station.
In addition to delivering these safety works, construction will incorporate some pavement rehabilitation on Beerburrum Road, extending the project footprint north through to the Elimbah Service Station.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2026, weather and scheduling permitting. Where possible, disruptive work will be done in the school holiday periods, to reduce impacts to the school community.
This project is being delivered under the Queensland Government’s Targeted Road Safety Program, which aims to improve road safety by implementing high-benefit, cost-effective treatments at known and potential crash locations.
Member for Glass House Andrew Powell MP said the project demonstrated the Queensland Government’s commitment to delivering safer roads for local communities.
“This intersection is a known crash location, so these upgrades are critical to improving safety for everyone who uses it,” Mr Powell said.
“The installation of traffic signals will provide safer turning movements for motorists, while signalised pedestrian crossings will improve safety for students, families and other pedestrians.
“Dedicated left and right-turn lanes, together with two new signalised crossing points, will help improve traffic flow and make the intersection safer and more efficient.
“TMR has worked closely with Elimbah State School, the department’s School Crossing team, nearby residents and other stakeholders throughout the design process, and that engagement will continue as we move towards construction.”
